The Rio Grande Hospital Imaging Department is a highly technical department
staffed with people who have a passion for patient care and service, high quality
personnel that get accurate results. Our staff knows that helping understand
what will take place during your test will assist you in remaining calm and
relaxed during the procedure. This creates a positive experience for you and
enables the Technologist performing your procedure to obtain the highest
quality image and exam to help in your diagnosis and treatment.
At Rio Grande Hospital Radiology, the department includes 4 full time
Radiologic Technologists, a Department Manager and an Interpretation
Radiology Group (Several Radiologists who read your exams) called Cheyenne
Radiology Group out of Cheyenne, Wyoming. We also use a NIGHTSHIFT
Service at night and weekends, to interpret your images and exams 24 hours a
day giving our patients the best possible care no matter when the situation may
be needed. Our Radiologic Technologists are each trained and certified in their
specific modalities, and many are also cross trained to assist in other modalities
(CAT scan). If you have any questions or concerns about any procedures or
exams, please do not hesitate to call us @ 719-657-4151. Also, you may call
the Radiology Director Eddie Medina @719-657-4150(his voicemail) at any
time if you have any questions or concerns.
X-RAYS
• We do all X-rays Exams except specialty work such as venous and flouro
• We use CR(Computed Radiography) Imaging

leveling of X-rays and immediate images are sent to PACS then on for
Interpretation.
• PACS which stands for Picture Archiving Computer System allows anyone
with
Internet access to view images along with reports typed from the radiologist with
department approval

subtraction.
(Removing Bone to see only vessels)

machine
on a regular basis for out patients and emergency room work.

• MRI stands for Magnetic Resonance Imaging which excites the cells of
the body
at different frequencies to show minute variations of soft tissue.
ULTRASOUND
